Could you introduce your group in a few words? THE RECRUITER is an HR consulting firm structured around 3 brands: The Recruiter (recruitment services for specialized profiles at middle and senior management level), Background Check (a unique platform in Luxembourg for collecting professional references), and HR Advisory (a wide range of HR solutions such as assessments, behavioral evaluations, secondment of consultants, salary surveys, outplacement, career coaching, training).
Your firm recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary. On the occasion of the firm’s 10-year anniversary at the end of November 2023, we had the pleasure and pride of organizing an event with our clients in the inspiring presence of Edgar Grospiron, around the levers of motivation and performance. These 10 years have marked a development of the firm, since we now have 12 employees and more than 150 clients.
What has really changed in your profession? On the recruitment side, the importance of the experience lived by the candidate has become greater than before. Search technologies have grown in importance, while we still consider that the quality of the human interaction remains decisive and immutable. The acceleration of communication channels is the factor that has evolved the most: candidates are hyper-connected and very demanding in terms of responsiveness, the importance of employer branding is vital for any company, and authenticity prevails.
Have employers’ expectations evolved? Employers still seek quality profiles in terms of education level and professional background. The candidates’ learning and adaptation capacity is the key element on which employers have raised their expectations. Soft skills, agility, skills upgrading and the ability to be persistent in turbulent times are also elements required by companies.
The 2024 market. The beginning of 2024 is contrasted: although the service sectors continue their recruitment campaigns, the volume is less present and companies focus primarily on specific functions and responsibilities with added value. Budgets are tighter and there is no euphoria or recruitment at any cost. For a candidate, it is necessary to work on their employability in order to maintain and ideally increase their skills. It is vital to adapt and to train continuously; this continuous self-training is strongly recommended.
Outlook. We expect a stable or even contracted market in the first half of the year and growth in the second half. Customer relations, marketing and sales functions are constantly reinventing themselves. Professions related to data integration and analysis should also continue their strong development, and artificial intelligence technologies will support them.
